October ramblings

Goodnestone 4

It’s nearly at the end of November, and I just realised that I forgot to blog about October! It began with some wild weather – beach huts blown into the sea by wild winds whipping up the high tide on my first visit to Minnis Bay.

A weekend trip to London, and a tour of the street art around Shoreditch and Broadway Market followed by an Argentinian dinner was great fun and all to raise money for the Todos Juntos charity, which provides dental treatment for street children in Argentina. It wasn’t just learning about the street art that was fascinating – it was good to walk around an area of London that I didn’t know at all.

Back home, the garden was still blooming when the sun shone, but it wasn’t long before the rains came  – and carried on coming throughout October and November, with just the odd lovely day to lift the spirits.

A visit to Goodnestone (top) at the end of the month found dahlias still blooming and the grasses coming into their own in the low autumn light.

The best bits of the month were seeing Ellis on four separate trips up to London – here he is in favourite moments – watching Hey Duggee, in Winston Churchill pose, reading and getting stuck into the food at his cousin’s third birthday party.
